at the AUSTRALIAN CHIROPRACTIC COLLEGE

Based in Adelaide, South Australia

The Australian Chiropractic College is proud to deliver cutting-edge curriculum in a caring and vibrant environment.

Entry Requirements

Applications to the Australian Chiropractic College are open all year-round. However, we encourage prospective students to apply ahead of time as ACC is the only provider approved to deliver the Bachelor of Chiropractic (Course Cricos Code 107411C) in South Australia. As a result, positions for future study periods will be assessed in advance.

Please note; domestic students must be 18 years of age by June 30 in the year they commence.

All international students must be 18 years of age at the time of commencement.

Domestic Student Applicants:

Admission through any one of the following pathways is available:

  • Recent secondary study – Year 12 (SACE or equivalent) qualification gained in the past two years with an ATAR of 80. Students who do not achieve the published ATAR may still be admitted, on the condition that they accept an academic support plan.

The ACC does not have specific subject requirements prior to commencement; however, it is recommended that students have undertaken at least one of the following: Biology, P.E., Physics or Chemistry.
  • Post-secondary study – satisfactory completion of at least 1 EFTSL (Equivalent Full Time Study Load) of an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) level 5 or 0.5 EFTSL of an AQF Level 6 Australian higher education study or equivalent including credit equivalence for assumed knowledge.
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET) Study – satisfactory completion of a VET qualification at Certificate IV or higher from a Registered Training Organisation
  • Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) – achieved a STAT score of at least 140 in the written English section and 155 in the multiple-choice section
  • Work and life experience – demonstrated readiness for higher education studies through a resume which shows at least three years of professional experience, a 500-word personal statement, a supporting statement on company letterhead from your employer (or a trader with your business if you are the owner or CEO) and at least two relevant written references.

If you are ready to study with the Australian Chiropractic College but are unsure about the best pathway for you, please contact our Student Admissions Team for more information. Our Student Admissions Team is here to help you.

What If I Have Already Studied?

If you have previously or are currently enrolled in science or health science courses, you may have already met the requirements for some subjects in the Bachelor of Chiropractic.  Please contact our Student Admissions Team so we can advise you and discuss a personalised study plan.

International Student Applicants:

The Australian Chiropractic College is a registered CRICOS provider (CRICOS Provider ID 03943F), and welcomes international students who meet our entry requirements.

Academic Credit or RPL may also be applied for any relevant post secondary study, either in Australia or home country.

International students entering at both the Diploma and Degree level, need to provide certified evidence of their local qualifications.

  • Students wishing to enter the Diploma need to have achieved the local equivalent of an Australian ATAR of 80.
  • Students seeking to enter directly into the Degree, need to provide further education evidence that equate to the ACC Diploma of Health Science.

All international qualifications are checked against the National Office for Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR) database. Should a qualification not be able to be verified by NOOSR, the ACC will endeavour to seek other means of verification.

As per the ESOS Act, international students who are accepted into ACC, should be aware of the grounds by which their enrolment can be deferred, suspended or cancelled. This can viewed at the Alteration of Student Enrolment Status Policy.

We encourage you to contact our Student Admissions Team for more information about studying at the ACC as an international student.

English Language Requirements

International students entering at the Diploma level, are required to have and IELTS of 6.5 (with no band below 6.0). Or if entering directly into the Degree, an academic IELTS overall score of 7.0 with no band under 7.0. For international students who commence at ACC, we continue to work with them to determine the most appropriate English support on an individual basis if required.

Diploma of Health Science to Bachelor of Chiropractic

To study the four year Bachelor of Chiropractic, students must first study and successfully complete the one year Diploma of Health Science at the ACC (or approved alternative). Students can enter the Diploma program after receiving an offer from the ACC through one of the application pathways.
